We will help you be proactive rather than reactive by building on your natural capabilities and developing new areas for growth. We will demonstrate and practice how to realign with the why that brought you to the work you do. Discover how to ensure your work continues feeding you in healthy and positive ways.

What Can I Expect?
Maureen Smith
A Registered Clinical Social Worker, Maureen has been a Mental Health and Substance Use Counsellor for over 9 years and previously worked in Hospice and Palliative Care. She is a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) facilitator and meditation teacher.
Since 2005, Maureen has been a resident and co-manager of the Clear Sky Retreat Center. For over 20 years Maureen has been studying meditation and mindfulness with awakening masters Doug Duncan Sensei and Catherine Pawasarat Sensei. Maureen gets excited finding ways to blend her spiritual and professional work life in a delicately woven tapestry. Her life’s purpose is exploring consciousness and gaining wisdom into human nature in order to support people to grow into fully developed human beings.
During her time-out relaxation moments, Maureen enjoys gazing at the sky through leaves on tree branches, hiking, creating art and reading.
Dean Nicholson
Dean has a Masters in Counselling Psychology. He is the Executive Director of East Kootenay Addiction Services Society with over 30 years clinical counselling experience in health care. Dean has facilitated hundreds of therapy groups, is an educator and popular speaker. He has also conducted cutting edge research on substance use and trauma, and has presented at national and international conferences.
A meditation practitioner and resident at the Clear Sky Meditation Center, Dean is a student of Doug Duncan Sensei and Catherine Pawasarat Sensei. Dean actively lives the healing practices he teaches his clients.
For fun Dean enjoys music, film and literature, and exploring the natural history of the East Kootenay area.

We can help you with a supportive balance of formal meditation time and optional mindful activities. Or, you can use the space for deep rest, journaling, or reflecting.
Locally sourced / organic meals provided. Optional daily meditation guidance is available.
